Electrical Immersion elements heat the water in a water cylinder / hot tank which is normally located in a boiler room or hot press cupboard location. These types of devices can be extremely useful in the summer months when it is no longer necessary to apply space heating for a dwelling and it only necessary to have hot water provision at the faucet outlets of a home. This can be particularly the case if the space heating in a home environment has not been zoned for separate hot water and space heating provision. There is either one to two immersion elements which are installed in the hot tank / water cylinder either at the top or on sides. These types of devices can typically be rated at about 3KW of electrical power so can consume a lot of power over the course of day. However a timer device can be fitted to help manage the power consumptions of these devices more effectively. So they can often be operated with an hour boost function mode than automatically switches off the element after a single short period of operation like an hour. Having the electrical immersion elements working properly in a home hot water cylinder is often an essential backup device to have if the space heating should fail to operate or require regular maintenance. This is because most homes rely on either their central heating boiler or electrical immersion heater for hot water provision in a dwelling.
